2022 Programme

Make a difference and inspire the pioneers of the future

In 2022 we’re looking to work with amazing researchers and STEM professionals who can share their insights and expertise with disadvantaged students by hosting them for one or two week summer work placements.

Host students in summer 2022

We are looking for science, technology, engineering and maths researchers, PhD students and professionals to host groups of up to three young people at their workplace for one or two weeks (Covid-19 restrictions permitting).

It’s easy

Our experienced and friendly staff will provide you with all the training and guidance you need to become a fantastic host with us, and also boost your CV! The summer work placements will take place in July or August, according to your availability.

It’s safe

We shortlist and interview disadvantaged students before matching them to you based on their interests. All in-person work placements will be hosted in accordance with the latest Covid-19 guidance.

It will make a difference

Through just a small time commitment to share your knowledge and experience, these young people can gain the knowledge and confidence needed to pursue a career in STEM.

The Programme in 2022

The 2022 In2scienceUK Programme will give our students access to exciting in-person and online opportunities including a one or two week work placement, online skills and employability workshops and in-person induction days.

The In2scienceUK team will work closely with hosts to develop and deliver an engaging placement, enabling students of all abilities to explore STEM beyond the classroom, develop key skills and boost their applications for further education.

If you are a researcher, PhD student or professional in the STEM field we want you to share your experiences with underrepresented students through signing up as a host. Help our young people kickstart their pathway to a career in the sector, and achieve their potential in STEM.

I’m passionate about science and diversity, and supporting young people to fulfil their STEM potential is a great way to support both. I absolutely recommend In2scienceUK, it’s a great way to support the development of the UK’s next STEM generation”.
