Professor Clare Ray is an Honorary Professor of Widening Participation in Biomedical Education at the University of Birmingham, currently dedicating her expertise to voluntary roles.
During her academic career, she led a variety of national and regional initiatives that advanced the participation, success, and progression of underrepresented groups in higher education for which she received the Joseph Chamberlain Award for Educational Advancement. She is a Principal Fellow of the HEA and combined her teaching responsibilities across a range of biomedical and healthcare undergraduate programmes with research centred around the physiological control and integration of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
