In2science summer programme Host Application 2023

Welcome to the In2science summer programme!

Make a difference and inspire the pioneers of the future.

In 2023 we’re looking to work with amazing researchers and STEM professionals who can share their insights and expertise with disadvantaged students by hosting up to three young people for one or two week summer work experience placements.

It’s easy – No prior hosting experience is required to volunteer. Our experienced and friendly staff will provide you with all the training and guidance you need to become a fantastic host with us, and also boost your CV!

It’s safe – We shortlist all applicants and cross-reference them with their teachers to ensure students meet our eligibility criteria before matching them to you based on their interests, and we give you guidance on all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.

It will make a difference – Through just a small time commitment to share your knowledge and experience, these young people can gain the knowledge and confidence needed to pursue a career in STEM.

The summer work placements will take place in July or August, according to your availability.

This year we are accepting applications from applicants who work in the following locations (or within a one-hour commute):

Birmingham, Cambridge, Cardiff,
Colchester, Coventry, Edinburgh,
Exeter, Lancaster, Leeds,
Leicester, Liverpool, London,
Manchester, Oxford, Reading,
Warwick, Wolverhampton

Note: The matching process is based on the specific interests of the students that gain a place on our programme, therefore we cannot guarantee we will be able to match all volunteers. Matching students to hosts will take place in May 2023.
