Deepmind, encourage young people to pursue their curiosities and love for STEM

Kate Baumli, Research Engineer at Deepmind, got involved in our programme to encourage young people to pursue their curiosities and love for STEM. “It doesn’t feel like too long ago that I was in their shoes and would have loved to have the opportunity to talk to someone in a STEM career.”

Kate really enjoyed mentoring a group of passionate young people, keen to hear about her job writing code to make computer programs learn. “They all inspired me with how prepared they were for the session, how much they wanted to learn, and how passionate they are about technology at such a young age.”

With STEM fields progressing our world forward at an incredible rate, Kate believes that to ensure this progression is beneficial for all people, having a diverse group of people with varying backgrounds working on the technologies and discoveries of the future is critical.

Thanks very much to Kate and Deepmind for your ongoing support of our students and programme!
